Is your bike setup holding you back?

HELP GET YOUR BIKE JUST RIGHT

Our job as physio’s is to make sure you are set up for success and eliminate or change anything that may slow you up or worse, cause injury. Trends in bike fits have changed in the last couple of years, particularly with so many of us getting into tri’s. This trend has even changed bike design. All this means there are traps you can fall into that cap performance or even lead to injury over time.  Either way, your goal is clear: you need to setup for performance so you can also stay injury free.

cycling assessment

When our physios look at position on the bike, they use their knowledge of mechanics and anatomy. Niggles and injury relate to posture and technique on the bike and can be adjusted to tackle the real cause. That way you can get lasting results.

We have created some resources to get you started on some simple changes on the bike:

  • Getting seat height right
  • Pedal technique for power and endurance

We’ll share resources to help you start below.

Confused about where to begin?

HOW TO GET STARTED

The key to getting your bike setup right is to tackle it systematically. There are two keys:

  • Getting your body mechanics right for the bike (strength/stretch/technique drills)
  • Fitting the bike to your body

A successful cycling assessment tackles both. We like to get you in for a body assessment first that looks at the ranges you need, key strength, technique. That way you can work on these immediately with a full program that you keep for life.

Then we do the cycling fit targeted at what you want to achieve, speed, endurance, getting back after injury, aero position, comfort. Both of these components are critical for solving your specific problem and ticking off your goals.

To get started contact us to chat with one of our physios about what you want to get out of your cycling assessment.
